Job Title: Surgical Coordinator / Vascular Medicine Practice




Reports to:  Physicians

Our services include diagnostic testing, minimally invasive procedures, and surgical interventions, all aimed at improving vascular health and enhancing quality of life for our patients in Stuart and surrounding areas.




Summary:  The Vascular Medicine Practice Surgical Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and coordinating patient services related to vascular surgical procedures. This role involves managing physician schedules, handling administrative tasks such as pre-authorization and medical clearances, scheduling testing appointments, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.




Responsibilities:



  1. Patient Contact:


    • Schedule patients for vascular surgical procedures, referrals, and medical clearances.

    • Address patient inquiries and phone calls regarding surgery and testing.

    • Coordinate home health services for surgery patients as needed.

    • Communicate with healthcare providers regarding surgery schedules and patient care.


  2. Administrative:


    • Schedule patient services for vascular surgeries, referrals, tests, post-op appointments, pre-operative clearances, and follow-up appointments.

    • Maintain and update physician schedules as required.

    • Manage changes to physician schedules and update practice management systems accordingly.

    • Coordinate pre-operative testing and prepare results for physician review.

    • Provide necessary documentation for billing purposes.

    • Schedule meetings with representatives and physicians for upcoming surgeries.

    • Obtain authorizations for surgical procedures and related services.


  3. Administrative Support:


    • Assist with additional administrative duties as needed.

  • Clear and professional communication with patients and colleagues.

Required Qualifications :

Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

  • Basic computer skills required.

  • Two years of experience in a medical setting, preferably in vascular medicine or surgical coordination.


Physical Requirements:



  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and bend as necessary throughout the workday.

  • Use of computer for extended periods.

  • Communication via telephone.

  • Reliable transportation required.

  • Monday - Friday

  • 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
