Job Description :

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to perform accounting tasks in collaboration with internal departments. This role supports the Controller to make sure that our accounting practices adhere to regulations, and that general accounting entries are accurate and reconciled timely. Good experience in Financial Planning and Analysis is highly desired.




Areas of responsibility:



  • Managing our AP Platform

  • Process Payroll

  • Working with the Controller to support the monthly financial closing process.


To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate knowledge of best practices in general ledger accounting and experience in a similar role. The Senior Accountant will be someone whose accounting expertise results in accurate financial reporting. This individual must work well in a fast paced environment, have an analytical approach, and constantly seek to improve processes. This individual must work well independently but also work well with a team and communicate appropriately. We are looking for someone that can implement new technologies, and be able to research. Someone not afraid to ask questions or make suggestions. Good experience in Financial Planning and Analysis is a major plus.




This function will include 3 level of responsibilities:




AP Platform Responsibilities:



  • Reviewing source documentation and properly coding to correct company and Staff account

  • Confirming appropriate level of authorization for bills submitted to AP Platform

  • Recording bills from contractors

  • Weekly reconciliation of AP Platform to Quickbooks

  • Monthly closing entries for AP Department [Accruals, Prepaid,…]

  • Weekly credit cards reconciliation


Payroll Process Responsibilities:



  • Reviewing and confirming time tracking for 1099 payrolls + Office Employees. Resolve discrepancies.

  • Processing payroll on a bi-weekly basis.

  • Recording payroll expenses per completed payroll run reports.

  • Monthly closing entries for payroll and vacation accruals.

  • Preparing and Reporting retirement plan information as required by third party administrator.


Accounting Responsibilities:



  • Collaborating with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial information.

  • Need working FP&A  (Financial Planning and Analysis) experience.  Knows accounting but can do analysis.

  • Entering financial data such as accruals, deferrals, reclassifications, and intercompany entries into the ledger on a daily basis, as well as preparing reports.

  • Recording entries and reconciling unbilled revenue and AR for home health companies.

  • Posting payments to AR ledger and researching reasons for discrepancies.

  • Successfully work with external parties handling claims billing to ensure that revenue is recorded accurately and claims are submitted timely.

  • Preparing intercompany entries to properly allocate revenues, expenses and intercompany balances.

  • Performing account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are correct.

  • Reconciling accounts with the general ledger.

  • Gathering supporting documentation and performing recordkeeping.

  • Keeping abreast of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting.




 


Required Qualifications :

Accountant Requirements:





  • Bachelor's or associate's degree in accounting, or in a related specialization.

  • At least 5 years experience in general ledger accounting, or similar.

  • Proficiency in accounting and business management software, such as Matrix, Axxess, Quickbooks, Chase 360, Chase Connect, Bill.com, Casamba.

  • Strong Excel skills a must

  • In-depth knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Superb time-management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills

  • Experience working with and improving new systems and processes
