Job Description :


Verification of Benefits Specialist contacts insurance companies on behalf of free-standing facilities to verify details of patient’s benefits. The VOB Specialist is also responsible for completing documentation of insurance coverage details and any additional applicable information. 

The Responsibilities of a Verification of Benefits Specialist 

include:                                                ·         

Daily call live insurance representatives to obtain verification of benefits·         

Solid understanding of how insurance works from Deductibles, co-insurances, out of pocket

max, and 4th quarter carry-over·         

Meeting high-volume call goals within assigned accounts·         

Providing excellent & considerate customer service to each facility·         

Meeting defined department goals and activity metrics ·         

Working knowledge of computer programs and office equipment·         

Must be proficient in using Microsoft 

Required Qualifications :

2-4 years Medical Office Experience

High School Diploma or GED

Microsoft Office/Google Docs

A Verification of Benefits Specialist must be great with time management, self-motivated, good listener and have a working knowledge of how insurance works. Excellent documentation and general math skills are a must. Exceptional customer service standards and practices as also a needed. A qualified candidate must be familiar with programs such as Word, Excel, or Google Docs. Behavioral, Rehab, Mental Health experience preferred!
