Project Manager With Smart Grid Technology Experience
The Project Manager is directly responsible for the overall direction, co-ordination, implementation execution, control, and completion of multiple projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.
The Project Manager will have good problem-solving and negotiation skills and the ability to resolve issues to drive and improve performance as well as excellent planning and organizational skills. They should have experience of managing technical projects and have experience of using Microsoft packages, excellent in Excel.
Knowledge of high voltage power systems. Knowledge of electrical utility distribution feeder systems and substations. Ability to work with software to program devices. Ability to strictly follow procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and report on project progress in a structured manner, drawing particular attention to deviations from the original project plan and producing highlight reports as required.
Ensure all issues are monitored, resolved, and escalated where appropriate in order to ensure these are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
Assist with onboarding of new Smart Grid Engineers and Technicians
Processes and administration
Maintain and update all necessary records to ensure the effective monitoring of projects and compliance to company procedures and policies.
Update and maintain the project plan and programs of works as appropriate.
Monitor and report on project progress in a structured manner.
The scope of work knowledge includes but is not limited to the following:
Programming Devices utilizing company provided laptop and vendor-based applications
Work with device data and prepare reports.
Perform device operational checks utilizing approved processes.
Perform site pre-checks to include physical site accessibility and validation of construction standards followed by installation crews
Validation of field testing with office personnel to confirm appropriate levels of communications response and accuracy of point mapping.
