Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in a chiropractic practice setting. Your expertise in anatomy and physiology will be essential in assisting patients with their rehabilitation goals and ensuring effective discharge planning.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries, surgeries and other ailments.
- Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the physical therapist.
- Educate patients and their families about exercises, home care strategies, and overall wellness.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes in compliance with clinic policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during therapy sessions.
Experience
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
- Experience working in a clinical setting is preferred; familiarity with geriatrics is a plus.
- Previous involvement in discharge planning and care plan development is advantageous.
- Understanding of orthopedic conditions and treatments will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
- Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with patients, families, and team members.
