Paralegal (Bankruptcy)

We are in search of a Bankruptcy Paralegal or Associate with a very particular set of skills! This role will act as an Independent contractor position and likely be project-based. The length of the assignment may vary but will be at least a 2- weeks with a possibility of extending to longer term or other assignments. You will also have a choice to work from any of our Broward, Palm Beach or Dade County offices (or remote)

Skills

• THE #1 REQUIRED SKILL: Conversant proficiency of the most updated version of Best Case (application)


• Meet with our client (located in North Broward) and gather information that will later be entered into a bankruptcy application called Best Case


• Have knowledge of non-individual case filings (Chapter 11- Business Bankruptcies) on the debtor side


• Ability to explain concepts, articulate solution(s) and strategy to all levels of business constituents


• Strong conceptual, outside-the-box problem solving skills while having the ability to gather and assimilate complex information, apply critical thinking, interact, explain complicated concepts, articulate solutions and strategy to all levels of business constituents


• Entrepreneurially oriented, confident and professional demeanor


• Strong communication and networking skills - oral, written, listening and presentation with and between multiple audience types, organizations, networking opportunities, and levels, etc.


• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications


• Strong project management skills and can work with people to establish/meet goals, objectives, and action plans


• Present a high level of professionalism and handle confidential information with discretion


• Highly assertive and able to deal with people at all levels including high level business associates/partners
