Title: Lift Station Technician


 


Job Description: Reporting to the Lift Station Coordinator, the Lift Station Technician undertakes skilled work up to the journeyman level, encompassing the installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of electrical systems, generators, pumps, controls, and associated equipment, in accordance with established trade practices. The role also involves performing electrical assignments and tasks in adherence to standard electrical trade practices. Assignments are typically received as part of preplanned projects.


Responsibilities:



  • Install, alter, maintain, and repair electrical wiring systems, fixtures, transformers, and other electrical equipment.

  • Design, install, and maintain citywide generators.

  • Collaborate with engineers on lift station designs.

  • Maintain SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system and perform installations.

  • Install electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, control outlets, fixtures, motors, and related equipment.

  • Test and maintain electrical equipment, assessing performance using instruments such as voltmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.

  • Perform data entry for runtime records to ensure efficient pumping system operation.

  • Identify and rectify power failures and short circuits.

  • Inspect, check, and repair pumps, fans, valves, and motors.

  • Adjust, repair, and replace electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.

  • Maintain accurate records for preventative maintenance purposes.

  • Record flow data at lift stations, wells, and plant facilities.

  • Inspect, test, clean, and potentially repair alarms, switches, and sensors.

  • Order materials necessary to maintain the sewer system.

  • Undertake other related duties as assigned.

This is a full-time position located in the Collier County/Naples area of Southwest Florida

Typical Qualifications:


 


Knowledge: Thorough Knowledge of standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the electrical trade; thorough knowledge of local and national electrical codes; thorough knowledge of local and proper safety precautions of the electrical codes; thorough knowledge of the hazards and proper safety precautions of the electrical trade.



Skills: Safely utilize tools, materials, and standard equipment of the electrical trade; ability to troubleshoot and locate needed repairs in electrical systems, motors, and controls.



Ability to: work from specifications, drawings, and blueprints; estimate the time necessary to complete a job and to estimate the amount of materials required.


 


Acceptable Training and Experience:


High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 4 years experience at in the Water and Sewer field including Electrical.


 


Preferred Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:


Class 3-4 Operator Certification Licenses in Water Treatment, Water Production, Water Distribution, and Wastewater Collection' CDL Class A License
