Job Description :
Local Non-Profit that serves the Palm Beach and Belle Glade communities seeks an Education Coordinator. The organization has 4 programs providing resources such as food and clothing, education, healthcare and others. The position is based out of the Lake Worth office.
Purpose of Position: To provide quality education to farm worker families with the purpose of building self-sufficiency and improving their quality of life.
Job Responsibilities:
- Identify, and recruit families who would benefit from our education programs.
- Conduct daily tutoring and homework assistance sessions with students.
- Provide reading, writing and mathematics classes to different groups of students during the summer.
- Conduct ESOL, Literacy, Computer and other classes for adults throughout the year.
- Work with parents, school personnel and program volunteers to help children increase their grades.
- Accompany parents to parent-teacher conferences.
- Provide assistance in enrolling children in school.
- Provide translation/interpretation services when necessary.
- Conduct regular home visits to discuss student’s academic performance with the parents.
- Work with program volunteers during the tutoring sessions.
- Prepare lessons, and make sure students have all necessary materials.
- Monitor students release after the sessions end.
- Maintain attendance records.
- Provide monthly reports to supervisor.
- Maintain complete, accurate and confidential client files including case notes.
- Input client data into the agency’s database, complete tracking and outcome reports measurement forms, and close client files according to the program guidelines.
- Monitor and work to meet program’s goals as directed by supervisor.
- Provide referral information to clients and make referrals to other partners and agencies as needed.
- Facilitate monthly parent’s support groups
- Attend staff meetings and other mandatory training and represent the organization in interagency meetings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other community partners.
- Complete time sheets and all other agency paperwork in a timely and organized manner.
- Work a flex schedule, including evenings and weekends, as necessary to best serve clients.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Required Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree (or higher) in education or similar, OR 3+ years of experience working in education
- Teaching experience; Experience with ESOL, Literacy, Computer classes, etc. preferred
- Must be bilingual in English/Spanish.
- Computer knowledge necessary.
- Must be service-minded with professional appearance and attitude.
- Clean driving record.
Physical Requirements: Ability to drive safely and to carry out the above responsibilities. Some lifting and moving of donations (clothing, furniture, bags of food) required.
