As the Director of Nursing, you will provide direct care to members and their families establishing the plan of care to encourage a multidisciplinary approach to care. It is the role of the Director of Nursing to train, maintain caregiver competency, oversee and / or assume the duties of a case manager, and ensure compliance with all Medicare guidelines in relation to Private duty care.
The DON will cover Palm Beach County FL and the Treasure Coast. The position will be based in Stuart, FL.

Job Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership, guidance, and support to the field staff and clinical nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care.
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
- Managing and coordinating the recruitment, hiring, and retention of qualified nursing professionals.
- Conducting regular performance evaluations, identifying areas for improvement, and providing coaching and mentoring to enhance staff performance.
- Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Monitoring and analyzing patient outcomes and quality indicators to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient care, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
- Participating in the development and management of the department's budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development among the nursing staff.
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Oversees Quality Assurance / Quality Improvement with the maintenance of client clinical records, statistics, reports and records for purposes of evaluation and reporting of organization activities.
- Plans and implements nursing orientation, in-service, field staff annual competencies and ongoing training programs.
- Provides care as defined within the scope of the state’s nurse practice act.
- Assures proper maintenance of clinical records in compliance with local, state and federal laws.
- Responsible for overseeing training and compliance with EMR software.
- Supervises, educates, and coaches other nursing personnel and care-giving staff.
- Ensures compliance with state regulations, Joint Commission and company standards.
- Establishes good working relationships with National Account, local and staffing partners and continues to ask for referrals.
Requirements
1. A valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
2. A Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution or a Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
3. Proven experience in nursing leadership or management in a home health setting
4. In-depth knowledge of home health regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
5. Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
7. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare software.
8. Valid Driver's License and auto insurance.
9. Valid and current CPR certification.
