Sr. Substation Tech./Working Foreman
Substation Working Foreman, north areas Jacksonville to Tallahassee south to Tampa area. Position will travel throughout FL with paid mileage.
The successful candidate will be required to work in south Florida with existing foreman to learn work methods for at least 3 months, maybe more depending on performance. The successful candidate must perform excellent work.
Thorough knowledge of substation construction with at least five years experience as the working foreman for the following type of work:
Assembly and adjustment of 230 kV S&C Mark V Circuit switchers
Install 230 kV porcelain insulators and bus
Assemble and set 230 kV SF6 breakers
Ability to follow drawings, specifications, and procedures
Ability to communicate and develop relationships with customers
Ability to show respect and develop trust with and to a very diverse crew
Ability to work under the hot Florida sun
Responsibilities:
Install substation equipment in a safe and quality manner in energized high voltage substations
Develop excellent relationships with customers
Hold quality safety tailboards at the beginning of the work day and when the work plan changes
Provide instructive training to crew members
Perform safety observations
Qualifications:
Previous experience working in energized high voltage substations
Familiarity with electrical schematics, blueprints, and manuals
Familiarity with electrical equipment and hand tools
Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
